While I am not a raging fan of rsynch, it does indeed work. FWIW, so does mc.  
But just watch, some id10t will emasculate it totally, just so they can say 
they put a pretty face on it.  Don't even think about it, it is indeed the 
swiss army knife.  And while it may be ugly personified to some, get used to 
it, it can do anything you want it to.
