There is indeed a difference and probably I should have explained it in 
my previous mail. If you use sudo you will have your $HOME set from your 
user account while kdesudo sets it for the root account. You can check 
it yourself: Use the command "sudo konsole" and in the newly started 
konsole window try "echo $HOME". Compare this with "kdesudo konsole" and 
"echo $HOME".

Again, don't use sudo for graphical applications but kdesudo instead. It 
may work with sudo or maybe not, depending on the particular 
application.
