Progress of transfer.

Is there a way to keep the progress window open on a transfer of data from one 
location to another until the transfer is complete.  When I make a transfer of 
data in Jaunty kde 4.2.2, from one location to another, a progress window 
opens and shows the transfer speed for a couple of seconds and the window 
closes.

I would like to keep the progress window open until the transfer is complete.  
Is this possible?
