You mean it was there first then disappeared? Very strange. Did you
remove some plasma or kdebase package after the installation?

Another possibility is that it has been dragged down to the right edge
and the panel covers it. Changing the width of the panel would then
make it appear again.

Also, did you install the "Hide cashew" widget from kde-looks.org?
That might be another explanation
