What I am really hoping to find out is if when it goes "GA" at the end of the month, will it be made available in the standard repositories or will Canonical delay that until October when the next release of Kubuntu is released.
Usually, only security fixes are made available in the regular
repositories, that is main, universe, multiverse and restricted. But
as far as firefox-3.5 is concerned, it has been in the universe
repository in Jaunty with the version beta 4 on release time, but
firefox-3.0 is installed with higher priority. To override this, you
can force the installation with sudo apt-get install firefox-3.5.
The current Firefox-3.5 release from Mozilla will eventually find it's
way to the Jaunty-backports.
