Needed to add....
When an app, say firefox (and many others) was upgraded in Karmic and
.mozilla was s-linked to /Data, when I am in Hardy, which was also
s-linked to same in /Data, I noticed that Firefox will once again be
required to download and updated. I know that there are firefox files in
/var and /usr and I thought it may be dangerous to s-linked these /var
and /usr files between Hardy kde3 and Karmic kde4. I was hoping that
there may be a better way. Many '3rd party' apps from Kubuntu repo's
doesn't use /opt which is for self-downloaded dpkg (like opera) files
which I can also s-link. Just a thought that maybe there are ways...

Regards and thanks again,
