Really not sure of how to help you. Make sure you have this installed at 
least:
nvidia-glx-180 
At a console do:
sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx-180 
Then let it install all the other stuff it needs. After that you can try use 
the nvidia settings app, from a console:
nvidia-settings
