I understand that, but I think you may find the majority of Ubuntu users 
don't feel the same way.  I remember having this argument with a rabid Mac 
bigot 10 years ago.  In the end, he decided he preferred Windows to Mac, so 
there's no accounting for taste...  Anyway, I don't care if a program wants 
to be paternalistic _once_, to protect the less technical users, but it had 
damned well better let me turn it off.
