Stan,

I have had that problem in the past. What was wrong in my situation, is that
under the 'Account Name' in both sending and receiving, the automatic part of
the kmail configuration (which is done for us) put my ISP name "Att.yahoo.com"
for that entry, but the server actually requires my email address be in this
entry. So I changed from "Att.yayoo.com" to "stevenvollom at sbcglobal.net" and
it worked perfectly after that.

It may be Kmail's new preconfiguration. I suppose it may be a bug, but it may
work appropriately in most cases, I just don't know. You could call your ISP
and ask them what they want for Account Name. If yours is a duplicate of my
problem you will have the solution. I hope this helps. Some ISP's are not
very helpful due to using Linux, so they may not tell you. If no one provides
the correct solution, try what I did and put your name, email address, or any
other thing that may make sense to you in that place, to see if that works.
Just think what you would normally put there, if filling the configuration out
yourself and you will probably fix the problem. I hope this helps, and my
explanation is understandable.

Steven
