I spent hours on this yesterday, but still don't seem to be any nearer to a
solution.
The following cut-and-paste from the terminal pretty much tells the story:
----
[HN:~] sudo apt-get check
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
[HN:~]
[HN:~] sudo apt-get install kdeplasma-addons
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
kdeplasma-addons: Depends: libkexiv2-7 but it is not going to be installed
E: Broken packages
[HN:~]
----
Has anyone here managed to install kdeplasma-addons from the 64-bit
backports repository (without resorting to nastinesses like using "-force")?

PS I tried to do what the message says and report a bug against the
package, but the bug was almost immediately marked as "INVALID", without
any comment or explanation.
