I was addressing Norberto, who suggested the possibility of using dpkg
manually.  You didn't do this.

Whether you purged the settings (you didn't) is separate from whether
you installed from a cached package.  The latter is only a question of
whether you had to download the ktorrent .deb again (don't know).
