rndis0: Serious Packet Error Count!?

I found a fairly decent How-to on tethering an HTC-made TMO smartphone to Kubuntu Hardy Heron.  The only problem, now, is the staggering packet error count I am getting.  I have looked at the subversoin config file(s) and see nothing that sticks out, as a resolution.
