Can I do this before I have an Operating System installed. They provide a CD
for installation, however, all conversation is about using Microsoft as the
OS, and I will never put Microsoft in this computer? I am pretty sure their
CD is based upon Microsoft. Additionally, I don't even have a floppy drive.
The ASUS BIOS instructions talk about making a bottable floppy; can I do that
with a thumb drive?

I plan to wait until the installation is ready before I download the Intrepid
CD. I want the latest version possible, because they always seem to be
improving things that help installation of the more current hardware.
