How to add the €-sign to the key-board of a laptop with Kubuntu 8.10?.

It took me a while to get the keyboard going with a Euro sign rather than a 
"Schwa" symbol. Try changing the assignment of the "Compose" key, alt keys, 
Euro keys and meta in System Settings --> Regional & Language --> Keyboard --> 
Advance.

Here's my setup:

Alt/Win key behavior:
    "Meta is mapped to Win Keys" 
Third level choosers:
    "Press Left Alt Key to choose 3rd level" 
Adding the EuroSign to certain keys:
    "Add the Euro sign to the 5 key" 
    "Add the EuroSign to the E key"
Compose key position:
    "Right Alt is Compose"
