Problems with DVDROM on desktop

I am putting the audio CDs in the CD driver. Kubuntu just don't recognize
it.
I don't think that it could be a problem with the cable because I can play
it on windows (I have dual boot). So I was thinking if it could be a problem
with the driver... the most strange for me is that it worked with kubuntu
