Hi Brian,
try "sudo apt-get update" followed by "sudo apt-get upgrade" in a Konsole.
That should get all the updates from the servers and install them. After
that you can try again within KPackageKit.
Sascha
Already done these Sascha, no problems with them. It's KPackageKit that is the
problem, whatever I type into the search box all I get back is :=
--------------------------------------------------------------------
'A problem that we were not expecting has occurred.
Please report this bug with the error description.'
'Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus)'
---------------------------------------------------------------------
in an error pop-up, and nothing else . I have reported a bug on
launchpad, but it looks like others are having similar problems. See bug
#350967.
KPackageKit did work initially, why it's suddenly stopped I can't say.
apt-get is fine, but I tended to rely on KPacketKit to make sure I got
the correct x86_64 packages and now I can't. end of moan
