I was able to fix the problem myself.  I simply went back and tried something 
that failed when I attempted the last time.  I opened Dolphin in sudo, opened 
the 'disk' partition, right-clicked in the open space and selected 
properties>then permissions, and gave myself read and write permission and 
checked the box that confirmed the permission.  I was then able to make a 
folder for the partition, so I consider the problem solved.  If I did this in 
error, please reply.  Thanks for your ongoing patience with me and the 
continued help.  You are a real friend.
