Thanks, Mark. :-) Before doing as you advise (and I confess that my heart
sank at the disentangling I would have to do), I tried one last thing. I
tried to use iPlayer from Konqueror. I am listening to Corelli as I write.
Very nice too!
So the owner is just going to have to use a different browser for the BBC. He
was saying that he ought to use Konqueror a bit. ;-)
But I am still very grateful for your advice. And the explanation will be
enduringly useful. I may yet want to persuade Firefox to talk to the BBC.
I had in fact installed mplayer before I started on the various flavours of
Realplayer. But not mozilla-mplayer. I shall know next time. I had also
installed KMplayer, which may of course be what Konqueror is using.
