the last time i checked, the devs were saying it's going to be hard to
let KDE3 be installable in 8.10 since the default directories for KDE4
are no longer .kde4, but rather .kde , which means more work on KDE3
packages for intrepid, which they're trying to avoid. so in short, don't
let your hopes high for KDE3 in intrepid. if you want KDE3, stick to
hardy, it's LTS and won't go stale for a while now, there is really no
need to upgrade to intrepid if you're looking for hardy's stability.
so far, i've tried feisty, gutsy, hardy, and now intrepid. and to be
honest, hardy is the best version i've seen so far, most of the
instabilities i witnesses in previous versions are gone, and it's
constantly updated will programs and desktop environments to the moment,
and will continue to. if you're not the type of ppl who want bleeding
edge software, no matter how unstable they are, then seriously, stick to
hardy, it's the best there is.
