KDE and Compiz

Dear All, 

Is it  possible to use compiz on kde 3.5.9 and HH 8.04?
I  have an ATI graphics card and would especially like to be able to hover my 
mouse over the minimize bar at the bottom of the screen and be able to see a 
smaller version of the screen. I have tried to use Compiz in kde but get 
myself into plenty of 'snaggles' such as losing the control buttons at the 
top  right of the screen as well as other annoyances. Is there a recommended 
way of setting about using compiz in kde?
