Upgrade from 8.04 to 8.10?

i did successfully with 64 bits intrepid :

in a shell :

update-manager -d

no one problem though it was still in beta...
i have no choice ... 8.10 doesn't run on my intel dualcore... I can
install it but when i reboot kernel block (so i don't use kernel 2.6.27)
