Upgrading HH to II - KDE v4

I have been running HH with with both KDE 3.5.10 and 4.1.2. Primarily I
have stayed with 3.5 but am considering upgrading to II and am doing a
little pre-planning. The upgrade to II will upgrade my KDE to v4. Now,
since I already have v4 on my system is it likely to loose its mind or
will it know what to do? Should I remove all vestiges of KDE v4 first?

Sometimes I wonder.  Were our faith able to stand upright and look 
around, would it be looking down at the mustard seed or standing in awe 
of the height and breadth of it.
