knetworkmanager and ppp support in intrepid

Does anyone understand how to manage the ppp connections in  Kubuntu
Intrepid? I had a way to do that through KNetworkManager in Hardy, but
now it seems to be missing entirely...

NetworkManager 0.7, included in Intrepid, claims to support ppp
interface management (that includes 3G mobile connections) - a thing
badly needed in Kubuntu.

Knetworkmanager in Kubuntu 8.04 had rudimentary ppp connection support
(it acted as a gui for ifup), but now the new version of Knetworkmanager
in Intrepid is missing even that rudimentary support.

Or maybe I do not find it?
