I have it running for Hardy.  It has been a while, but I installed it 
via some scripts, and not a deb.  It was not Ubuntu specific.  The 
command line scripts downloaded IE from the microsoft.com website and 
installed them to run under wine.  They still work for me.  I have not 
tried to install IE7 as I just need active-x for this one app and 
wouldn't use the browser for anything else.
