800x600 in Kubuntu

For some reason vbox doesn't use it's own driver in 8.10 as a guest.  You just 
have to add one line with "vboxvideo" as the driver to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf 
file so it looks like this:

Section "Device"
         Identifier      "Configured Video Device"
         Driver          "vboxvideo"
EndSection

I had the same problem and it works just like it should now.  Restart kdm and 
then you just have to resize the window and the display automatically fills it.
