800x600 in Kubuntu

The additions were installed....I also updated Kubuntu.

Still, after re-start  of Kubuntu, my only display options are

Disabled
800x600 (Auto)
640x480

  I double check is the VirtualBoxGuestAdditions.iso already was loaded.
It is.
see devices, mount cd/dvd, mount cd/dvd image in the guest's menu/
still no possibility to change the resolution.



  

You have to *install* the additions, not just have the ISO mounted.
