in my experience, i never had any performance problems, but you usually
get loads of junk settings files here and there. some files stop being
used in later releases, and such stuff. as for performance, non that i
know of. but the thing with intrepid, is that you will be upgrading from
KDE3 to KDE4, and with it, there might be loads of such junk settings
files. i know of no person who upgraded to intrepid to be sure of how
bad the upgrade will be, you might need to check here and there a bit.
