Is this the correct MD5sum-code for my Kubuntu 8.10 iso file?

while checking the MD5 sum of a downloaded file is a very important
step, you don't actually need it in torrent downloads, since torrents
have their own unique way of calculating hashes for the pieces
downloaded.
