Sudden complications with Adept and Synaptic - partly solved

But getting root access via 'sudo' does work?
If not, there could be something wrong with the 'sudo'. In that case,
the sudo-package might have to be reinstalled. Sometimes, a package
gets broken, maybe because of broken dependencies, or of some other
cause. For instance, my 'synaptic' didn't work properly anymore. I
fixed that problem by reinstalling (after uninstalling) it's package
and dependencies.

BTW: has that strange tty-console problem of yours been solved? The
problem that no tty shows up after boot up. It would mean two strange
problems occurring simultaneously, maybe not completely accidental?
