I use Kontact on the desktop, Evolution on the laptop, and I used to use Tbird 
on the Windows machine at my old job (oh, and Alpine sometimes too). On all 
four, Gmail for me has always been heinously slow and prone to timing out and 
giving weird errors when I try to move messages. Just my experience.
