You definitely need a firewall....   and there is another concept you have 
missed.

Having a 37 character-totally-impossible-to-crack password isn't going to stop 
anyone from breaking into your system.  They can do lots of damage without 
needing the password.

Get a firewall and then use a reasonable password.
