Grub Errors

I just installed Ubuntu because I seemed to have done something that
stopped me from being able to boot Kubuntu. My computer used to dual
boot that and Mandriva. Now I can get Mandriva to boot but I can't get
Kubuntu to boot.

I have two hard drives and Mandriva is installed on one and Kubuntu on
the other.

I get this error message when I try to boot into Kubuntu.

root (hd1,0)
Filesystem type is ext2fs, partition type 0 x 83
Configfile /boot/grub/menu.lst
Error 18 selected cylinder exceeds maximum supported by Bios

Anyone know how to straighten this out? I am not opposed to reinstalling
either or both operating systems if that's the easiest solution. I just
backed up all my files on both operating systems.

Thanks for your help.
