How kind that reply is.  I apologize for my post.  I should have done my 
homework.  I have been fixing a lot of stuff recently; I posted prior to 
doing my homework.  I should have know that it basically is the 
difference of desktops.  Starting with Kubuntu is my only excuse.  But 
this post answers a lot of questions.  I expect will be able to put a 
lot of issues to bed by the time I finish your list for help.  Thanks 
for your kindness.  I really think I deserve a scolding.
