Kubuntu 8.10 (ready or not ? )

Yes, it would seem to me that if you were to use a reliable distro in the 
office it should at leas be a LTS release.  Other wise you would be updating 
your office software every six months, which to me would not be a wise thing 
to do for a smooth running office!
