That was a Kubuntu decision, not a KDE decision. A wrong decision in
my opinion, like including KDE 4.x by default in Kubuntu 8.10 (and
worse, saving settings in ~/.kde as opposed to ~/.kde4).

You can configure a different file manager or uninstall it, like we just did.
