Different kernels? I had a similar problem with hardy. When I installed
hardy Kubuntu via the upgrade procedure, I had no wireless, but using the
Ubuntu Live CD I had no problem. So I rebooted hardy with the old Gutsy
kernel and lived with that until I got a 2.6.26 kernel from Intrepid in
June or July. The only difference that made sense between the Kubuntu &
Ubuntu installs was that the kernel on the CD was two or three minor
releases older than what I was getting installing Kubuntu over the 'net.
otoh, I seem to recall I actually booted off that kernel _into_ kubuntu,
and it wasn't any better.
