BitchX is dead, that is the reason you aren't finding it in the distros these
days. If you do, well then something needs to be said to the developers,
especially considering the amount of takeovers that BitchX client endured
during its tenure. If you download BitchX from the Internet, there is no
telling if you are getting the real client or if you are getting a rootkit. If
a command line client is your cup of tea, then nothing can touch irssi. Another
one that has become fairly popular of late is weechat for the command line.

The best GUI client there is due to the amount of possibilities it has, is
KVIRC. It is a KDE based client, is in the Fedora and Kubuntu repos. Pretty
much everything you can do with irssi you can do with KVIRC, just graphically.
It can be mesmerizing though considering the amount of configurations and
possibilities, but that is KDE for ya :)
