I usually pay for the "other" distros I try - I tend to choose which Linux
mags I'll buy depending on which DVD's they've got :-)  But that's pretty
small change compared to buying a retail Windows.

My very first Linux was Corel Linux 1.0, and I don't recall how I got the
CD, but I think I actually paid a nominal price for it.
