Hard freeze inspiron 1525 & kdetv

I installed Hardy Alpha 5 (Kubuntu) on my Dell 1525 Inspiron laptop and, to check whether
the built-in camera works), installed kdetv.
The camera works nicely, but if I click on the 'Screen Capture' button (on the kdetv
toolbar) the laptop immediately freezes and I have to power off using the on/off button on
the laptop itself.

Anybody else notice this?
