8.10? it is either 7.10 or 8.04, 8.10 has not been released yet. i don't
know what graphics card is in this laptop, it would be helpful if you can
tell us.
in any ways, if you are using 7.10, go to k-menu-->system
settings-->advanced-->restricted drivers manager, and make sure that if a
graphics driver is mentioned there, the checkbox beside it is checked.
the same program in 8.04 can be accessed with k-menu-->system-->drivers
manager.
