Check your installation.  The spell checker works fine for me on Hardy as it 
did in previous versions.

As for the grammar checker, I have never like this feature on any software.  
It is usually wrong and reminds me of a preachy, narrow minded, under 
educated teacher hampering a more gifted student's creativity.
