SMS?

I recently entered the 21st century by purchasing a phone with SMS
capability, which means that it now makes sense for me to install an
SMS-sending program on my main Kubuntu system.

I did a search in Synaptic for "sms" and it seems like there are several
possible clients one can use to send SMS messages from Kubuntu (in
particular, from within Kontact). Which package do people here recommend?

If it makes a difference, I am in the US.
