I first installed Kubuntu 7.10; then the official ubuntu-dell iso (which gives a 'default
factory install' - Ubuntu is definitely not as nice as Kubuntu) and then I tried the
latest Kubuntu 8.04 alpha 5 (live CD) which does configure the ethernet card properly.
So now I am burning the 8.04 alpha 5 alternate iso and will install that tonight.

Is the alpha release usable?

Blessings,
