I vae just install amarok 2 (KUbuntu 8.10) and I have problems with iPod
Applet. Amarok 2 does not recognize my iPod (I have to add the iPod to
collections repository and re-scan the whold thing each time I connect my
iPod).
It seems that the amarok2 package does not support iPod by default. So, I
download the sources to compile it, and I have got the following error (64 bit
architecture):
/usr/bin/ld: /usr/lib/mysql/libmysqld.a(net_serv.o): relocation R_X86_64_32
against `a local symbol' can not be used when making a shared object;
recompile with -fPIC
/usr/lib/mysql/libmysqld.a: could not read symbols: Bad value

It is something related to the mysql client. Someone has an idea (without to
compile MySQL myself with the option).
Thanks.
