Kwin doesn't open when I boot up.

Since removal of kwallet, my computer doesn't maintain kwin. I have to
reboot, then open a shell and type in kwin. I get it back, however if I
close the terminal to open adept package manager, the computer releases
Kwin and I cannot maneuver until I reboot and enter kwin again. This
time I attempted to get back to Kmail for help. I was able to move from
a shell to a root shell, so if I knew what code to enter, I could
probably repair the problem. dpkg ceases to function the minute I close
the terminal. When I sent the last email, kwallet asked for my password
again to include Kmail's password. It refused my password and suggested
maybe I had entered it incorrectly. None of my passwords work. I don't
have any idea what to try next.
