re flickering screen

dear all
I am running KDE 4.1.3
KWin 3.0
I have an ATII driver (radeon 1300)
My pc is dell inspiron xps 210

I have updated my system this morning.
All videos play back with a flickering screen. I have searched the forums 
for an answer, but I am still confused.
Does anyone know how to stop the  flicker. It seems to affect all 
applications.
If the solution requires me to open a terminal, could you be kind and give 
precise instructions.
