Only getting low resolution with new monitor in feisty

I have to admit I didn't really understand your original question that well.

But I just bought a new LCD monitor for my Feisty machine, which had already
been running the non-free ATI driver.

All I had to do to tell it about the new monitor was go to Settings ->
Peripherals -> Monitor and Display,  pick Administrator mode.   Then go to
the Hardware tab and tell it about my new monitor.

Then under Size, Orientation & Positioning tab, it let me go up to
1680x1050.

No problem, done.

If Gutsy makes it even easier, great.  Can't imagine it much easier, unless
you don't want to know that a Monitor is a peripheral.
