If it's not in the Dapper repos, and you can't compile it from source (because 
other stuff is old in Dapper) then you have two choices:
1. Abandon all hope
2. Install Gutsy.

Them's the breaks in Linuxland. I just had to move up to Gutsy to get some GTK 
libs that The Spaghetti monster Himself could not install with all His noodly 
might on Dapper...
