Samba problem

Hi,

I have a problem with Samba. Two computers on the network (connected via
Linksys router). Dynamic IP addresses.

Both in the workgroup called "Workgroup", however, smb:/ does not show any
workgroups. Moreover, I cannot access the other host by typing in
smb://hostname/ but can do that by using the local ip address, say,
smb://192.168.1.101/ (actually, I can do that one way but not the other
way...)

Maybe I have something wrong in my smb.conf file? Pasting it below...

I have ubuntu edgy on one computer and feisty on the other.

By the way, I can see the workgroup by using smb4k package, I can also see the
two clients, but strange thing: one of the hostnames is bound to an IP
address that is not a lan ip, but that I see in ifconfig output, like this:

eth0:avah Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:18:F3:2E:AD:F1
          inet addr:169.254.9.242 Bcast:169.254.255.255 Mask:255.255.0.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          Interrupt:177 Base address:0xc800
