Okay, then FLAC (or maybe high-quality Ogg Vorbis) makes sense.
KAudioCreator allows you to set compression values.

I think it's preinstalled, but otherwise just install the kaudiocreator
package.  It shows up in the Multimedia section of the K Menu.
